摘要
The conversion of waste plastic pyrolysis oil into value-added chemical feedstocks offers a promising route toward plastic circularity [1]. Previous research has demonstrated the feasibility of producing acetylene from liquid hydrocarbons through plasma processing [2]. In this study, hydrogen arc plasma was used to convert waste plastic pyrolysis oil into acetylene and ethylene, with an emphasis on controlling their relative selectivities. Lab-scale experiments with representative aromatic and aliphatic model compounds, together with actual pyrolysis oil, showed that varying discharge conditions shifted the product distribution toward either acetylene or ethylene. The process was subsequently extended to a bench-scale reactor using oils derived from sorted and unsorted waste plastics. These results demonstrate the applicability of this approach at the bench scale and suggest its potential for industrial implementation.
